When I was in Grade 9, I suffered a severe concussion and was out of school and sports for 7 months. During this time, I couldn't do school, I couldn't do sports, and I couldn't leave my bed all that much. I decided that I would get two rabbits for company.
I would lay in bed in the evenings, and listen to my mom read me research books about rabbits in order to learn all that I could, even while I couldn't read myself (due to headaches). After I was able to leave my bed I got my two rabbits. Eventually that grew to a few more, like rabbits do, and I had fun finding them homes for a few years. When I chose to go to university, I gave the website and bunnies to a neighbour who now runs Sinclair Rabbitry in Hamilton, Ontario. After some time, I met and married my husband and we settled in Creston BC. I have missed rabbits since the moment I left the business. Now that we have settled here in Creston, we have decided to pursue Rabbits once again. I have missed them since the day I left them, and I cannot wait to get back to owning them. Sinclair Rabbitry BC is located in the heart of the kootenays. We are 10 minutes from the border to Idaho and 3 hours from the Alberta Border. We are very central and often travel into Calgary and Lethbridge. We are excited to run Rabbitry and look forward to providing Quality Holland Lops for the BC, and Alberta residents. Summers almost over but the heat has not gone yet. With all that fur, buns need a little extra help from us humans to stay cool when the temperature is so hot. This summer, I used mostly grass cubes to help them out, but there are multiple ways to love on your bun in a "cool" way.
Grass Cubes: simply cute grass up into small strands and put them in a ice cube tray, fill the tray holes with water and freeze. Give your bun a couple and voila, a snack to help them cool down, and stay hydrated. Smoothie Cubes: In a blender, blend a variety of vegetables. (make sure they are all able to be safely consumed by your rabbit) Don't get too creative as too many vegetables mixing and your bun may not like it. Make sure to put water in. Pour smoothie mix into vegetable trays and freeze. Again, voila, a snack for your bun. |
